At L’Albero you will be able to meet an all-female artistic crew working in Matera, Melfi and Potenza. They work as a multidisciplinary team able to combine Arts, digital communication and social and educational processes.
In this multidisciplinary scenario, L’Albero uses the theatrical language as the main instrument to cross knowledges, places and contexts, and then to flow into a single center: the individual’s one.
The continual exchange and dialogue with other individuals (artists, scientists, old people, disabled, young people or children) is the real nourishment for the creative process.
Through many intense educational activities and focused performative actions, L’Albero has developed and realized several projects in different contexts and countries for years (public schools, penitentiaries, rehab centers), aimed to raise awareness about different topics: social campaigns, integration, prevention, knowledge distribution, early childhood and adolescent education, narration of the territory, cooperating with public and private institutions and organizations.
L’Albero’s private school, La Scuola sull’Albero, is both a factory and a workshop of its formative activity, that combines theatre education with the specific needs of the single person and the group; in its three headquarters the school has about 100 students aged from 5 to 50 years each year.
Moreover, as a founding member of #reteteatro41 – network of theatre companies that works with communities, especially with migrants people – L’Albero is one of the main representatives in Basilicata for theatre and socio-cultural planning and development.
During Matera 2019 ECoC, they work on Silent City, a successful project with 280 people involved with the objective to create a community Opera from the stories of the people of Matera (elderly and children). Silent City generated the Silent City experience that you could get in when in Matera.
