Terraferma Studio is a design pottery studio that has been running since 2017 in Matera. The company is focused on innovative processes around digital manufacturing, such as digital design, 3d printing, CNC routing, 3d scanning and digital sculpting. They create artistic, functional ceramics and tiles for architecture. Giovanni Diele, the founder, works his products with traditional techniques, such as the wheel, mold slipcasting, mold press or using numerical control machines. He designs innovative, high quality and affordable design ceramics, able to surprise the ever-growing clientele.

The services offered by Terraferma are based on functional and sustainable design and it’s specialized in ceramic and digital design. It offers a series of unique professional services, such as 3D clay printing and other rapid prototyping services designed to have the possibility of dealing with the customer and being able to rely on rapid prototyping tools and the ability to produce even the most complex models. The activity takes place between ceramic art (wheel, slipcasting, and slabs) and digital experimentation.

Giovanni has exhibited in the recent past at Maker Faire Rome, Triennale Design Milano, Manifesta18 Palermo, Salone del Mobile in Milan, Source Firenze, Fucina Madre in Matera, Pino Pascali Museum Foundation at Polignano a Mare, and Materia Festival at Catanzaro.
