There are stories you cannot believe. And yet they are true. And there are apparent truths that turn out to be lies in a deceptively real way. , the trained drama teacher Petra Strassdas has made it her task to puzzle guests and visitors with her special city stories.
It is a real experience to listen to her, and it is even more exciting to answer her questions. She is a master of her craft when it comes to discovering curious facts about her home town Hamm. Would you have thought that this peaceful city, located in the eastern part of the Ruhr area, would have once and for a short time taken on the role of French capital? Uuups, we actually shouldn’t have revealed that! Well, it happened, but there are many more things that we are not yet aware of.
History is particularly exciting when it follows the mysteries of time, and brings out the everyday and curious. The narrator refrains from listing dates, they are not even necessary. The guided tours of the "Flunkertour" (a kind of ‘truth or lie’ tour) are performance-based, with words, clothes and also little tidbits. Places, times and space merge, especially when the musical support picks up the sound of old times. History and city culture can't be more exciting and surprising - so a journey of discovery is fun and an experience for young and older people alike. Those who think they lost their imagination will certainly find it here.
As a storyteller, Petra can also count on the support of esteemed colleagues. Musician Ole Arntz with his musical talent provides the atmosphere. Her team also includes Tanja Schreiber, a storyteller who runs what is probably the world's smallest storytelling theatre in the world, FabulArt. The power of words and stories play with the boundaries between fiction and reality, and ignite the magic that only art with all its creative power can unfold, penetrating the soul.
Actually, touching would probably be a more appropriate word. That is because the whole programme is a game and an interaction, and thus an experience that you will certainly not forget so quickly. The urban space provides the appropriate backdrop for this, but nevertheless there are also indoor events that take weather-related or organisational requirements into account...

Today she doesn’t only offer all kinds of curiosities about the city of Hamm with her city tours, but also belongs to a group of storytellers in and around Hamm. She is a member of the Hamm narrative circle and the active protagonist of the "ensemble anderswelt".
